Dressing up or Dressing down?

Hello again,

From time to time, most of the time, I like to dress up – in fact I struggle to find clothes sensible enough to wear on the school run... often having to resort to torn paint splashed trackies.

I love to wear outfits that reflect my mood – though in 2009, I made a New Year’s Resolution that I would always wear colours – never black – except at Halloween. Now being fairly gothic by nature, this posed quite a few problems, but I persevered and it is the only resolution I have stuck to. I have found that wearing colourful clothes makes me feel happy and ready for the world. But hooray, it’s that time of year when I get to pull out my black all in one suit and black cape and wear it with pride! And you know, I feel great - and with my witches face paint and broom, I know I look great too... ;)

In Mia’s Books, my paranormal novella, my heroine usually wears a blouse, skirt and stockings – a trait familiar to all my leading ladies. But in one scene she does wear a strappy golden top which I rather like as it makes her feel beautiful and sensual. Clothes and costumes can change your mood instantly, and brings different inspiration to different scenes.

What’s your favourite colour to wear – especially at Halloween?

If you would like a chance of winning a copy of Mia’s Books, please leave a comment on any of my posts today and I’ll pick a winner. Thanks!

Blurby bit
Ghost lover or mortal—can Mia have both?
Mia has a big problem. She is in love with two people, and one of them happens to be a ghost. After a late night seduction in a deserted library, Mia brings home a haunted book. The book contains a ghost which instructs her to seduce strangers on its behalf. Mia falls in love with one of her conquests and finds herself in a romantic tangle. Can she keep both her lovers, or will she have to choose?

When it comes to dressing up I tend not find anything to wear...hmmm odd! I like dressing down more because its comfy but dressing up does make me feel better. When it comes to Halloween I don't think I have a particular color I gravitate towards, perhaps bolder like black and red.

My favorite color to wear is blue. Any shade. As for Halloween,I never dress up so I don't think to wear black more often than I already do.

Ah! I don't get to dress up often--work and hobbies (horses, dogs, hiking, swimming) demand practical clothing.

But when I do! Heels. Boots. Leather. Red lipstick. It just makes me feel powerful!

I am a middle school teacher and struggle with dressing up for school. School has been cancelled due to no power from the snow. Not an issue this year.

No particular color I gravitate towards for Halloween. I tend to wear a lot of blues and blacks in everyday wear.
