Ah, summer. I love it! Though I haven’t had a vacation in too long, it doesn’t stop me from getting in the beach frame of mind. You know what I mean – when you can set aside the usual daily blah routine and go outside in the sunshine with a great song in your head and a great book in your hand.
Some books are touted as beach reads, but that’s not what draws me to a book. A grabber blurb and cover will entice me, and I’ll read any genre any time of year.
What about you? Do you read certain types of books during the summer for “beach reads”? Or are you like me, and read whatever grabs you?
Smashwords and Amazon:
1 cup tequila
½ cup blue curacao
1 cup canned coconut milk
1/3 cup lime juice
2 cups fresh or frozen raspberries, unsweetened
2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries, unsweetened
4 cups ice cubes
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon fresh or dried culinary lavender blossoms
Lavender sprigs to make it pretty
In blender, combine tequila, curacao, coconut milk, and lime juice. Cover and turn to high speed, then gradually add raspberries, blueberries, and ice. Whirl until margarita mixture is smooth. Put sugar and lavender blossoms in a small bowl. Crush to release the lavender flavor. Rub glass rims with lime wedge, then dip rims in lavender sugar or coarse salt, coating evenly. Pour margaritas into glasses. Garnish with lavender sprigs. Take outside with your favorite book and enjoy!
Notes: For easy Lavender Margaritas, use a can of frozen margarita mix, follow the recipe on the can and add lavender!
Eternity can suck when it’s all work, work, work. Death harvests souls even when they stack up faster than pancakes in an all-you-can-eat-buffet. No wonder she can’t shed the Grim Reaper rep.
As the patron angel of death and dying, Azrael works closely with Death but is dying for true intimacy. She’s the only immortal who’s ever aroused such powerful emotions in him. One taste of her leaves him needing her like humans need air and food, but will a demon’s lies leave a bad taste?
No one escapes Death – except King Sisyphus. Twice. With the help of Damien the demon, Sisyphus tries again, and she’s determined to have justice. Some say Death’s a bitch, but only when she has to be. But will the price of justice be a broken heart?
