Thanks for inviting me here today to talk about my bad boy hero Dante in my latest release Damned and Defiant from Ellora’s Cave. And thanks to the readers for taking the time to check out my books. Readers rock!
Dante Akanto is a character in all three books: Desert of the Damned, Damned and Desired, and Damned and Defiant. He plays quite a unique part in all three books. He’s a hunky immortal demon with the power to draw lifeforce energy from mortals through sexual encounters. He must do this for the survival of his life and his world Anartia. Unlike some demons on Anartia, he wasn’t always an immortal creature. He was assimilated by the demoness Gwyllain and her consort and lover Tarik to be their Drone and servant. In exchange for Dante’s loyalty and services, he was given immortality. The choice was a no-brainer because a senior Drone approached him while Dante was near death.
Dante lived during the Gold Rush days in the 1800s, he had a gold claim, he had a ranch and horses. Someone wanted all that he had. Dante was betrayed and shot and lay dying in the desert when another Drone rescued him. If he hadn’t accepted the demoness’s offer, he would’ve died.
While Drones collect their lifeforce energy, they cannot indulge in orgasms. To do so will drain the energy they collected and possibly drain all the energy from their current prey to the point of death. For this reason, Drones are forbidden to get personal with mortals. Dante breaks that rule when he meets Haley.
He knows she’s running from her past. Something frightened her enough to leave everything behind except a backpack and hike across country but he doesn’t know what. He’s attracted to her vulnerability, courage and beauty. Besides her quirkiness, she’s a Sha Warrior with powers she doesn’t even know she possesses. And another demon wants to use her for his own benefit. To protect Haley, Dante has to betray his own kind and risk destroying his world.

Mortal women surrender to Dante’s seductions. He is a Drone, an immortal who feeds off their lifeforce energy—the chi that keeps his kind alive. When his dimension is on the edge of destruction, Dante must seek the help of one special woman.
Haley Moore is a Sha Warrior—a mortal with excess lifeforce energy. She has always had a strong attraction to Dante and when they meet again he thinks luck is on his side because his quota of chi energy would be obtained after one scorching scene with this mortal. But the problem is that he is overwhelmingly attracted to her and once with this woman won’t be enough.
Haley tries to draw out the man buried deep within the demon. Their fierce, undeniable passion unravels his plans and threatens her life. Can Dante bear to abandon her when he leaves Earth forever? Dante will have to choose whether to return to his world or to give up his immortality and share his future with Haley.
