My favorite part of the holidays…
By Cassandra Carr

It’s funny. I love the holiday season. I love buying presents, wrapping presents, putting up the tree, decorating the house – all that fun stuff. But now that I have a daughter (who just turned four in early December), watching the looks of wonder and joy on her face as she experiences the holidays is truly the best part.

A little bit before Thanksgiving, my husband (aka the sucker who can’t say no) had my daughter out at a store. I don’t remember which one and it doesn’t matter. She mentioned she wanted to do another gingerbread house like the one we did last year. The sucker bought a kit. Guess what happened then?

“I want to make the gingerbread house today? Can we make the gingerbread house today?” EVERY DAY until we caved and did it. I had no idea, but apparently my husband is a TOTAL ROOKIE. You don’t buy those things unless you intend to make them that very night. Is he not at all familiar with young children?

So yeah, that “incident” made me laugh. And so many things like that happen every year. We can still have Grandpa call and pretend to be Santa and she totally buys it. She stood on the driveway for a half-hour feeding my husband icicle lights to put up. Then, of course, she wanted to turn them on immediately, but it was the weekend before Thanksgiving, and since my husband is a bit of a Scrooge he won’t even consider turning them on until the weekend after Thanksgiving. But it was the last nice day we were going to have to put up lights, so we had to take advantage of it. At least that’s what I told my husband…

Oh, and I’ve got a couple of new releases either out or coming soon, including Master Class, a BDSM holiday story! Here’s the blurb:

Ryan Tomasi feels like a failure. His marriage is officially over; the ink dried on the divorce decree. His friend Jack introduces him to BDSM and he agrees to attend a Halloween party at a club. A submissive approaches him, offering herself, and how can he refuse the kneeling beauty? They do a whirlwind scene and Ryan is addicted—both to dominance and to her.

Lisette Rinaldo is returning to the BDSM club for the first time since ending a bad relationship with her former master. She spots Ryan and is taken by the combination of self-assurance and nervousness the man displays as he takes in his surroundings. And after he gives her an incredible re-introduction to the lifestyle, she knows she needs to see the man again.

Ryan and Lisette explore each other and the lifestyle, but what started out as playtime quickly evolves into something more. The problem? Ryan isn’t ready to get serious again and Lisette doesn’t want to fall in love with a guy who can’t give all of himself to her. Both of them are going to have to break out of the bonds holding them back from happiness.

Happy Holidays everybody!

My favorite part of the holiday season is seeing people take the time to do something good for someone else. It's even better when it's done randomly or for a random stranger.

I think people should keep this mentality for the entire year, but at least for a few weeks it's a start :)

My favorite part is seeing people, family and friends, who you don't get to see all that often. :)

Kids do have a way of making the holidays about them..as it should be! As for me...I am a soon to be first-time grandma! Even though my little grand-angel is not born yet, it seems that my hubby, the future first-time grandpa and I have splurged something awful already and have furnished the entire nursery and than some! I cannot even imagine what we'll do after the baby is born! LOL Thanks for sharing about your little one and her anxiousness! debbifarmer@yahoo.com

The best thing I love about the holidays is the feasts and holiday movie watching marathon. All this is spent with the people I love most.
